Penicillin of Jewish Mothers

This chicken soup is packed full of nutrients that encourage the growth of yin and nourishes your skin from the inside out.

INGREDIENTS:

- 1-pound chicken with skin and bones

- 3.5 cups low sodium chicken stock

- 1 medium onion (supports lungs and kidney, promotes warmth and Qi flow in body)

- 1oz dried shiitake (high in interferon which is a protein that induces an immune response for viral diseases)

- 1 tablespoon garlic (anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and reduces toxicity)

- 3 cups raw butternut squash (improves Qi circulation)

- 1.5 cup carrots (supports lungs and eliminates putrefactive bacteria in gut)

- 2 stalks celery (supports stomach and spleen)

- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (Contains flavonoids which protects against toxins)

- 1 tablespoon cilantro (Supports digestion)


DIRECTIONS:

-Peel and slice carrots 

-Clean and slice celery 

-Peel and dice onion

-Peel and dice butternut squash; fresh squash can be replaced with frozen or pre-diced butternut squash  

- Add all ingredients to crockpot and cook for 4 hours on high heat or 6 hours on low heat
