Martha Delafield
LCSW
Martha has been in private psychotherapy practice for over 20 years. For many of those years she specialized in working with people experiencing severe anxiety problems and eating disorders, as well as the issues that often accompany them, such as post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
Throughout her work, Martha has been intent on learning the most effective ways of dealing with life's most persistent and frustrating problems. About 15 years ago, she discovered EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which was the first "accelerated processing" therapy. It allowed clients to process at a rapid pace memories and traumas that were "stuck" in their consciousness.
While training to become one of EMDR's facilitators, she learned about energy psychology, and for the last 10 years, Martha has become an expert in the use of energy techniques in psychotherapy. Using these energetic tools enables clients to work through issues, traumas, stresses, and painful feelings at a rate uncommon in traditional psychotherapy. What used to take months of traditional therapy can now be accomplished in a few sessions; the issues clients used to be told they were stuck with for life can now be resolved. Energy psychology techniques can work when everything else has failed.
The latest innovation in treatment Martha has been pursuing is Neurofeedback. With neurofeedback, clients again can resolve issues that used to be considered intractable, or manageable only through medication - such as ADD, ADHD, Asperger's, chronic anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder, seizure disorders, sleep problems, addictions, etc.
With neurofeedback, your brain is given an opportunity to train itself to work more efficiently - developing greater flexibility and resiliency. Like the energy therapies, neurofeedback is gentle, noninvasive, with little or no side effects - yet its power to transform is remarkable.
